The Urangara Stud sheep are classed by well known sheep classer, Rob Russell, from "Sheepscope" Port Fairy, Victoria..
Rob has many years experience classing stud and flock sheep throughout Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and into NSW, and we are fortunate to have him on our team.
From Rob's experience and knowledge of sheep breeding, 500 stud ewes are classed annually into breeding groups according to their particular wool and body traits. Great improvement has been made to increase crimp definition and softness in the wools, while maintaining the large framed, early maturing productive sheep that Urangara are known for.
It's all about keeping the right balance of the important traits that make a profitable flock.
